Alchimica Building Chemicals has hosted a training event, “An Introduction to the Hyperdesmo System”, in their new training facility in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales.

The day began with a presentation covering the Hyperdesmo System and the benefits of using liquid waterproof membrane as an alternative to conventional roofing materials.

Following this, the attendees were given a product application demonstration during which they were taught the correct procedure for the application of different products; Hyperseal, Alchimica’s range of same day and next day Primers, Geotextile installation and the use of Hyperdesmo Particular, a fibre reinforced product, specifically designed for application in hard to reach detailing areas, and the Hyperdesmo HAA top coat.

After the demonstration and a question and answer session, the attendees were each allocated a mock up work station that provided a variety of challenges that could be solved using range of specialised liquid waterproof products.

The challenges the attendees were presented with included creating fillets with joint sealants on 90 degree angles, upstands and around pipe work. They also tried their hand at application of geotextile on horizontal joints and installation of reinforcement material for box gutters and internal and external corners, and application of Primers and Top Coats.

The day ended with an opportunity for all attendees to pose any final questions and provide any feedback on the day. Each attendee left with a welcome pack containing product application information guides and samples.
