Attention all Marketers

Attention all Marketers

As we approach the awards season, Chris Ashworth, co-organiser of the Construction Marketing Awards explains what the CMAs mean for construction marketers.

Now in their twenty first year, the Construction Marketing Awards were set up to encourage best practice in construction marketing and are endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Construction Products Association. They provide a unique recognition of achievement within the context of the special nature of our industry.

Each year the quality of entries has improved confirming that the CMAs have contributed to lifting standards. This is achieve by showcasing best practice and providing judges’ feedback to entrants. Marketing teams even use success at the CMAs as a benchmark of their performance.

So what should the CMAs mean to you?

You didn’t enter

Take a look at the entries, it will inspire you with the marketing initiatives the industry has taken over the last year. There are bound to be some ideas you can repurpose.

If you need a communications agency, view our agency league table. This will be updated shortly after the winners are announced.

And think about entering in 2022. It’s a great way to get recognition for your construction marketing.

Entered but are not a finalist

Don’t be disheartened. We had over 200 entries and you were up against a lot of high-quality competition. Take a look at the finalists’ entries, particularly in the categories you entered, and see who did get through. You can also request feedback on your entry from the judges so that you can submit a better entry next year.

You’re a finalist

Congratulations! Being a finalist is quite an achievement and good luck at the awards. Why not book some places at the Gala Dinner in London on 2nd December? Its not just an awards ceremony, but an opportunity to meet your peers from the industry. And based on the bookings we’ve had so far, quite a few organisations are taking the opportunity to get together and party after a difficult two years.

So don’t think the CMAs are not for you. We encourage entries from all sectors and disciplines of the industry. And its no closed show either, there are a string of new names as finalists in 2021.

Once again this year, the organisers are pleased to have Barbour ABI as overall sponsor, their support along with other leading industry organisations, makes the Construction Marketing Awards possible and enables us to provide you with a source of marketing ideas and inspiration. Please use it.
