Daikin Applied UK proudly supports children’s grassroots Triathlon.

Daikin Applied provided free water bottle sponsorship to all competitors of the children’s open water triathlon event hosted by Chelmsford’s Discovery Tri.

The event took place 17th July 2016 at Writtle College and was open to 8-16 year olds.

The Writtle triathalon forms part of the children’s East Region triathlon league. What makes the Writtle race stand out from the rest is that the course replicates a real triathlon. The college site provided an open water swim and a closed road tarmac cycle route.

The day was a success with 148 competitors taking part and Discovery Tri’s own athletes picking up 4 podium awards.

Even organiser Ashely Nicholson said, ““It was a really enjoyable day and luckily the weather was fantastic. Triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in the country at the present time and we hope that by holding this event we have inspired more young people to take up this sport.

We are very fortunate to have access to a great venue at Writtle College and valued sponsorship, like the support afforded by Daikin Applied.

Without the support through sponsorship, events such as these would not be economically viable and the triathlon experience to the UK’s budding new athletes would not be available.”
