Masonry Paint Systems

Our masonry coatings are formulated to deliver long-term protection, excellent colour retention, and substrate-specific performance — from traditional lime render to modern concrete and brickwork.

Stormshield Smooth Masonry – BBA-certified, water-based coating offering up to 15 years’ durability, excellent colour retention, and rain resistance within 20 minutes of application.

Silicone Masonry – Highly water-repellent and breathable finish ideal for render substrates. Offers 15 years’ life expectancy and excellent weather resistance.

Sol Silicate Masonry – A fully breathable, non-film-forming mineral paint ideal for lime render and heritage substrates. Provides ultimate weather protection and long-term substrate preservation.

Anti-Carbonation Coatings – Smooth, protective finishes designed to prevent CO₂ ingress and extend the life of concrete structures.

Stormshield Render Systems

Johnstone’s Trade Stormshield offers a range of high-performance render systems tailored to different substrates and project requirements. All systems are rigorously tested and many carry BBA certification.

High Performance Render System – Polymer-modified system for traditional masonry substrates, offering excellent crack resistance and long-term durability.

Scratch Render System – Cement-based, through-coloured render offering a durable, low-maintenance finish with excellent fade resistance.

High Flex Render System – Highly flexible polymer system ideal for render carrier boards and substrates requiring superior adhesion and crack resistance.

One Coat Render (OCR) – Breathable, cement-based render with wet-on-wet application for faster installation and reduced labour time.

Stormshield EWI Systems

Our External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems are designed to improve thermal performance, reduce energy consumption, and enhance building aesthetics. With life expectancies of up to 30 years, Stormshield EWI systems combine insulation, reinforcement, and decorative render finishes into a fully integrated solution.

Compatible with a wide range of insulation types (EPS, mineral wool, phenolic, etc.)

Multiple render finish options including silicone, acrylic, and mineral

Available in a wide range of colours and textures

Supported by BBA certification and full technical guidance

Exterior Trim & Metal Finishes

Aqua Guard Exterior (Gloss, Satin, Primer Undercoat) – Water-based, microporous system offering up to 8 years’ life expectancy. Delivers outstanding flow, flexibility, and colour retention for exterior wood and metal.

Flexible Exterior Satin – Solvent-based satin finish with enhanced durability and crack resistance. Offers up to 8 years’ protection for exterior joinery and detailing.

Smooth Metal Paint – Primer and topcoat in one for bare, previously painted, or rusted metal. Provides a smooth, semi-gloss finish with up to 8 years’ protection and anti-corrosive properties.

All exterior systems are supported by detailed technical data, BBA certifications, and tailored specification support. Colour matching is available across thousands of shades via the Johnstone’s Tinting System.
