Overview
Located by the east gate entrance, this 6,600m2 project is for a new four bay gain store with a holding capacity of 40,386 tonnes. An £8 million scheme for Frontier Agriculture to house mainly grains and other horticultural dry bulk products. Scheduled completion by 1st quarter 2022.

Material Specification
15,000 tonnes of SHW Clause 803 Type 1 Subbase.

Construction
400mm of Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA) Type 1 subbase underneath the main
building footprint comprising of 2 x 200mm layers. 150mm depth in all the external applications underneath the service yard, car parking and weighbridge areas. All external areas are being surfaced with asphalt.

Benefit
IBAA is an extremely cost-effective material when compared to Primary Aggregates and BP UK is working towards a verified Carbon Footprint. There are also advantages logistically when using IBAA due to the low density of the material allowing for fewer vehicle movements as this gives volumetric advantages over primary materials.
