Grating panels for re-invented London building

Grating panels for re-invented London building

Lang + Fulton has supplied 212m2 of Piazza-66 grating panels for a £25m project for Beltane Asset Management which has created a brand new building from the bones of an existing one at 24 King William Street in the City of London.

With minimal demolition, the design for this prominent site has recycled the existing structural frame behind an entirely new façade of glass and Portland stone. Two new floors of dramatic office space and a viewing terrace have been added by relocating service plant to the roof of the building.

The Piazza grating panels were chosen so that the air conditioning and ventilation plant are visually screened from adjacent buildings. The panels, which were designed for a maintenance load with restricted access, were clamped to a steel framework and supplied in a galvanized and ppc finish RAL 7022. The contract included 34m2 of PL-33×66/40×2 floor grating as an open decked area to the floor below.
