Large scale offsite projects

Large scale offsite projects

Offsite construction is rapidly becoming one of the most popular construction methods throughout the industry. We are seeing increasing amounts of large scale projects going down the offsite route. Here are a few big projects that utilised the offsite method to great effect.

1.Sky Control Centre
B & K Structures provided offsite manufactured structural timber systems for The Sky Campus, located in Osterley, West London. B & K installed over 7,500 linear metres of glulam beams and just under 16,000m2 of large timber roof cassettes with pre-installed skylights and gutters for the Sky Control Centre building - the largest timber roof cassette project in the UK.

2.The Green Build Hub
The Green Build Hub is CSBT’s new base at the Eden Project. It was designed and built as a sustainable building utilising volumetric modular construction.

3.London Bridge Station
For this project, an offsite manufacturing facility was set-up to manufacture the steelwork and roof cassettes which included the M&E interfaces, such as lighting, PA equipment and PIR sensors. Once completed, these were then delivered to site.

4.Hampton by Hilton Hotel Bristol Airport
The New Hampton by Hilton hotel at Bristol Airport was the 50th Hampton to open in the UK, in early 2017 and the success of the scheme was largely attributed to the use of volumetric bedrooms built using containerised technology.

5.Reigate Primary School
Reigate Primary School is a 2 storey SIP and timber frame hybrid structure. The entire structure was built using huge 6 metre by 3 metre i-SIP panels, manufactured at Innovare’s specialist facility in Coventry and transported to site where they were rapidly assembled by a lean team of operatives.
