Draining surface water can be discreet and form part of the aesthetics of a landscape. At Mermaid Quay, a bespoke drainage scheme utilised the MEARIN EXPERT and the galvanised slim slot TSH Topslot system. Implied curves were made possible following MEA UK's guidance drawings and careful installation. The overall impression of an organic curved drainage channel was accentuated with darker coloured paving and provides a natural stream / fluid appearance.

A total of 220 metres were supplied and successfully installed on this project. MEA UK provided a free of charge design service and worked directly with the building and civil engineering contractor to create a stunning bespoke drainage solution. The MEARIN EXPERT 1000 channels complete with the galvanised slim slot TSH Topslot system was the product of choice.

MEARIN EXPERT 1000 is made from glass-fibre-reinforced composite and is one of a range of MEARIN products offering a choice of widths and depths to suit specific requirements. These drainage channels are lightweight, extremely robust and heat resistant. They remain permanently stable and do not deform. Such qualities ensure a high level of installation safety, lower maintenance costs and a long service life.

Although MEARIN EXPERT is significantly lighter than concrete channels, it is in no way inferior to them in terms of efficiency and load-bearing capacity. MEARIN EXPERT also perfectly defies the effects of the weather; the channel is insensitive to frost, de-icing salt, oils and other chemicals.

RESULT:

MEARIN EXPERT 100 with TSH slim slot topslot offered an architecturally attractive design that satisfied the client. This drainage system is an economical solution that meets both performance requirements and safety standards.
