Fire safety is a critical consideration for modern buildings, helping to ensure the safety of occupants and limit the potential damage to properties in the event of a fire. Through careful material selection, glazing systems can play a part in delivering reliable performance while maintaining other requirements such as aesthetics.
As a non-flammable material with a melting temperature of over 600 degrees, aluminium is an ideal material to create fire resistant solutions – be it for windows, doors or curtain walls.
In order to meet the necessary requirements set out in the Building Regulations, systems need to be created in line with regulations, in addition to being fabricated and installed correctly to ensure they perform as designed.
Through the Fire Safe Partners Scheme, Reynaers Aluminium is supporting fabricators and installers to deliver on safety by providing fire resistant products, alongside dedicated training.
As part of Reynaers’ commitment to quality and excellence, the scheme offers access to training, support and fire-resistant glazing systems exclusively to qualified partners. This approach ensures the highest standards are maintained when it comes to fire safety, from fabrication through to installation.
Meeting European standards of EI30 and EI60, the Reynaers range of fire-safe products build on already-successful ranges such as CW 50 and CS 77, allowing the range to span windows, doors and curtain wall.
The Fire Safe Partners Scheme from Reynaers has been developed with independent fire safety schemes Certifire and FIRAS. Ensuring the Scheme’s integrity, Certifire assures performance, quality, reliability and traceability of products and systems, while FIRAS endorses the competency of installers to install and maintain systems to the necessary standards in order to achieve the required protection.
