Client: RNLI
Type of works: supply of mesh Sterope fencing with a decorative rail.
The new RNLI training college at Poole required a fence to reflect the work of the lifeboats. In conjunction with Orsogril UK's technical office, the architect designed two different types of wave top using 62 x 132mm mesh Sterope with a decorative rail and 114mm CHS post. The 2100mm fencing represented a continuous wave and the adjacent 1,700mm wall mounted fence a series of broken waves.
The project also included a standard 1,700mm fence using Orsogril's 50mm tubular post which is 'squeezed' at the fixing points for neat bolt connections.
The contract comprised a total length of 135m fencing with four double and two single gates, hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated for the sea-front location with stainless-steel fixings.
