Specialist Floor Grating for High-End Development

Specialist Floor Grating for High-End Development

New passageways were created around the Zig Zag Building and Kings Gate House in the London Borough of Westminster for pedestrian flow and to create an attractive environment for the shops, restaurants. The unusual care which was taken in the design of this urban landscape by Vogt and BDP is reflected in both the tree planting, public art works and quality of materials that are integral to the development.

Cross Pressed Floor Grating
Lang+Fulton supplied 132m2 of open mesh grating panels for the goods and services entrance. A cross pressed grating with 15x88mm mesh and 70x3mm bearing bar was recommended to meet the 1910mm span, which was required to ventilate the underground car park, and to accommodate any potential heavy vehicle loading such as fire engines.

Heel-Proof Pedestrian Grating
An additional 42m2 of pressure locked, heel-proof grating with a 44x11mm mesh was supplied as the most appropriate grating for the adjacent pedestrian area with a 50x2mm bearing bar.
