Client: The Centre
Type of works: supply of pressure-locked grating panels for security screening and balustrading

Livingston boasts one of the largest indoor shopping and leisure complexes in Scotland. After major refurbishment and development, The Centre was recently reopened as a contemporary-styled, modern complex, accommodating over 155 retail units occupying 1 million sq ft.

As part of the redevelopment, a new 3-storey car park was constructed, providing 1500 spaces. Lang+Fulton supplied screening panels and balustrading from their DemiAlto and Alto ranges of pressure-locked grating.

The DemiAlto panels for ground level and surrounding the access ramp were made from mild steel to a bespoke aperture of 55x154cm with a 40x2mm bearing bar and 10x2mm transverse bar.

The robust balustrading for the upper floors and roof-top was made from Alto-44, a cross-pressed grating with equal flat bars. The Alto-44 grating has an aperture of 44x132mm and was made from flat bars with a 30x3mm section to create a strong visual statement.
