Prolay® System & Solutions
The ProLay® System is a manufacture, supply and installation service offering from the Aggregate Industries contracting team for bespoke, new generation, ProLay asphalts (specially designed asphalt for your projects). The ProLay System and Solutions will provide you with extended pavement life, offers an increased level of warranty up to 10 years*, supports efficiencies and whole life costing.

Through a consultative approach and early involvement in a project’s design stage, their Surfacing Solutions & Contracting team is able to carry out site investigations to identify and deliver tailored whole-life solutions through the ProLay System.

The ProLay system assists clients in identifying the right first time pavement design solution, whilst state-of-the-art smart surfacing technology captures the pavement data required to support asset management. The ProLay System comes complete with as-built digital data records and an end of warranty report (as applicable).

The ProLay System offers a new range of exclusive products that contain high grade bitumen that can be mixed at low temperatures to reduce CO2.

SuperBase™
SuperBase is a specifically engineered asphaltic concrete 14mm dense binder course mixture, which has been designed to fill the gap within the range of binder course materials, described in UK asphalt standards.

Super Protect®
Super Protect® Plant and Super Protect® Stock are specifically modified hot rolled asphalt surface courses developed by Aggregate Industries to resist the harsh acidic effluents found in agricultural & similar environments. Both are designed as very dense mixes with low voids and offer excellent impermeabilty and reduced sensitivity to chemical attack to deliver an extremely durable asphalt for the farming and anaerobic digestion sectors.

Foamix®
Foamix® asphalt is a hybrid between Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Material (HBM). Manufactured as a cold mix, it contains a high recycled content asphalt resulting in a low manufacturing carbon footprint. Manufactured to a high level of control and incorporates up to 92% recycled materials, reclaimed filler/additives, plus bitumen, cement and water.
Using their fleet of Sitebatch Technologies mobile mixing plants, Foamix offers a cost-effective, sustainable solution to their customers for the construction, repair and maintenance of new or existing pavements whilst maximising the use of locally sourced recycled materials. It is laid and compacted like normal asphalt, only cold, without the need for any specialist paver or labour.

With the ability to encapsulate tar-bound RAP for safe reuse in the local road network, Foamix offers their clients a more sustainable solution that eliminates costly disposal charges associated with hazardous waste at licensed tips.

SuperSAMI
SuperSAMI is a stress absorbing membrane interlayer – SAMI, used to overlay jointed concrete carriageways – or on CBGM flexible composite pavements before installing binder and surface course. Typically laid 25-30mm thick, it’s a fine graded 6mm asphalt containing a high proportion of polymer modified binder (up to 10) reducing delays and reflection cracking.

S.M.A.Tex®
The S.M.A.Tex asphalt surface course is based on the application and experience of European based stone mastic asphalt technology, paying particular attention to areas where high levels of retained textures is not considered important.

They also offer S.M.A.Tex Industrial, designed to provide a most durable asphalt surfacing for industrial type applications. This product has a lower texture depth than other highway products to specifically improve resistance to scuffing from items such as stacking cradles and container forklifts.

SuperFlex®
Award winning SuperFlex asphalt combines the properties of high fatigue resistance with excellent deformation resistance. It is suited for use in a wide variety of applications and particularly where cracking is a problem and is the ideal material when overlaying concrete.

SuperCurve®

SuperTrench®
A permanent hot mix asphalt surface course mixture that is ideal for use in the reinstatement of flexible footways, footpaths and cycle tracks.

SuperLow-Carbon
The development of their SuperLow range, which supports their shared journey to reduce carbon in the industry, never stands still.

With the help of Shell Bitumen, Aggregate Industries has developed SuperLow-Carbon; the innovative next step on the carbon reduction journey.

The evolution began by reducing the embodied carbon footprint of their asphalts: improving production processes, using alternative energy sources, and mixing at reduced temperatures. In SuperLow-Carbon, they have gone even further, including a biogenic material within the bitumen that effectively locks carbon within the asphalt rather than releasing it back into the atmosphere.

The use of these biogenic components in SuperLow-Carbon means that CO2 remains within the asphalt even when it is recycled, creating a carbon sink.
