A full system of Mapei products have provided a quality platform at the City of Coventry Health Centre in preparation for the 7,700m2 of resilient floor coverings and 1,500m2 of ceramic tiling.

Mapei’s Mapeproof ESM surface applied damp proof membrane, Eco Prim T primer, Latexplan Trade levelling & smoothing compound, Ultrabond Eco 380 vinyl/PVC adhesive, Ultrabond Eco Tack carpet tile tackifier, Keraquick rapid-set tile adhesive and Ultracolor Plus grout were utilised in the £22.5m new build and were ideal for the highly sensitive environment.

The Facility, which has achieved a BREEAM rating of “Excellent”, was designed by Sonnemann Toon Architects while Galliford Try was the main contractor. Mapei products were preferred by Pinnacle Flooring who expertly carried out the installation. Ultrabond Eco 380 was used to adhere 5,000m² of Forbo Eternal Smaragd vinyl sheet to corridors/circulation areas & medical examination rooms; 700m² of Forbo Eternal Wood vinyl sheet to medical assessment rooms in addition to 500m² of Forbo Safestep R11 vinyl sheet to WC and shower areas. Ultrabond Eco Tack was used to secure 1,500m² of Interface Transformation carpet tiles to clerical areas.

Ultrabond Eco 380 and Ultrabond Eco Tack are part of Mapei’s popular Ultrabond Eco adhesive range. The range is solvent-free, water dispersion, non-flammable, non-staining and carries the EC1 GEV Emicode labelling for ultra-low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
