Mapei also produces special products for the repair of concrete, admixtures for concrete and mortar, adhesives for floor and wall coverings, ceramic tiles, natural stone, resilient flooring and wood. The Specification Centre – situated in Clerkenwell, London – is a first for the Mapei Group and demonstrates the relationship between the manufacturer and architect, from technical expertise and innovation, to providing bespoke project solutions in the UK and internationally.
Each of the 15 product lines are displayed through a series of textured samples and prestigious project references, accompanied by installation videos and supporting literature – offering architects, contractors and designers alike a comprehensive guide for specifying and using and Mapei products in their projects. A full RIBA CPD seminar and presentation calendar is also available at the showroom.
Mapei World London City prides itself on being a ‘Centre of Excellence’ with an informative, hands-on approach tailored towards each project, complemented by technical expertise supplied by teams from the UK head office near Birmingham.
Sustainability
A commitment to sustainability in development and product manufacturing originates from the very foundations of the Mapei organisation. Over the last 30 years, Mapei UK has made significant moves to reduce their environmental impact.
Solar panels have been installed at its West Midlands head office, producing around 15% of its total consumption. Additionally, Mapei recycles around 96% of production waste every year.
Mapei continues to demonstrate their ‘green’ manufacturing history and sustainable practices through proactive decisions and technological advancements in Mapei’s line of eco products. Not only does the improvement of these products maximise sustainable manufacturing, but can also be specified for LEED and BREEAM rated projects.
