Headpieces, Compatible Products & Accessories

The Self-Levelling Headpiece offers slope correction capabilities up to 5°(1 in 20 fall /2.86°) in all directions, ensuring a secure connection that facilitates a flat upper surface. Moreover, this Slope Corrector is entirely metal, complying with the Class A fire rating requirements.

The Paving Headpiece clips onto the MetalPad EX Pedestal without requiring mechanical fixing, ensuring tiles or slabs are securely held while also providing a gap for drainage. Made from galvanised steel and coated in Zintec 200, it will remain free from rust and corrosion. Additionally, these headpieces meet Class A fire rating standards and are available with various lug positions to facilitate easier tile positioning for any layout, including brickwork or stretcher bond.

The Crucifix Headpiece fits directly onto the MetalPad EX Pedestal, eliminating the need for mechanical fixing and securely holding tiles or slabs with gaps for drainage. Constructed from aluminium, this headpiece is rust and corrosion-free. It meets Class A fire rating standards and offers a simple, cost-effective solution for paving applications using the MetalPad EX.

The Spreader Plate is an optional addition to the MetalPad EX pedestal which helps with weight distribution and point loading when used on softer sub-surfaces like insulation or waterproof membranes. With a diameter of 185mm and a smooth underside, it effectively diffuses and distributes weight. By fitting beneath the standard 100mm diameter MetalPad EX, which is adequate for hard sub-surfaces like concrete, it significantly increases the weight tolerance as the pedestal locks into the slots on the top side of the Spreader Plate.

Wallbarn's Aluminium Rails/Joists, including the Box Rail & I-Plus Rail, are designed to integrate easily with the MetalPad EX pedestal. Assembly involves using the supplied Wing Nut Kit, which is initially tightened by hand. Once the substructure is correctly positioned, further tightening ensures a firm and stable connection, establishing a robust substructure.

Installation of the MetalPad EX pedestal is straightforward, ideally suited for predominantly flat decks, terraces, and balconies. Position the pedestals on structural decks capable of supporting the system's weight. For increased surface area on membranes and under heavy loads, consider adding an optional Spreader Plate.

For paving applications, secure paving headpieces to the pedestal tops using a screw or opt for "Crucifix" cross spacers as an alternative. Wallbarn's aluminium rails can be used with a paving headpiece to create a robust and flexible substructure.

In decking applications, the pedestals are loose laid without mechanical fixings. Wallbarn Aluminium Profiled rails/joists are mounted directly onto the MetalPad EX pedestal using a Wing Nut/Bolt Kit, and Class A decking boards are mechanically fixed, ensuring adequate drainage gaps.

The telescopic stems of the pedestals adjust to level the rails/joists and your chosen finish, be it deck boards or tiles/slabs.
