Composition and manufacture

Thermabate^® and Thermabate^® PLUS is a PVC-U extrusion with a rigid urethane insulation core that prevents thermal bridging at wall openings. Its PVC-U box section forms a positive damp-proof barrier and key for the direct application of plaster. It effectively prevents condensation, pattern staining and mould growth frequently associated with traditional methods of closing cavities. It has been manufactured and tested in accordance to ISO 9001:1994. Thermabate^® PLUS is now available preformed and is made to order, to specified opening sizes.

Accessories

A full range of accessories is available, including flange clips for fixing closer profiles to window frames as well as reveal clips, flange extension clips, wall fixing ties and profile brackets.

Size and weight

Kingspan Thermabate^® 50: Brown for 50 to 60mm wide cavities.
Kingspan Thermabate^® 65: Black for 65 to 74mm wide cavities.
Kingspan Thermabate^® 75: White for 75 to 84mm wide cavities.
Kingspan Thermabate^® 85:?Yellow for 85 to 94mm wide cavities.
Kingspan Thermabate^® 90: Orange for 90 to 99mm wide cavities.
Kingspan Thermabate^® 100: Green for 100 to 110mm wide cavities.
Kingspan Thermabate^® PLUS is made to order, to specified opening sizes.

Thermal properties

The thermal conductivity of the rigid urethane insulation core of Thermabate^® and Thermabate^® PLUS is 0.034W/mK.

Sitework

Thermabate^® and Thermabate^® PLUS is suitable for use with timber, metal or plastic window frames and can also be supplied in curved sections.

Effect of fire

Thermabate^® and Thermabate^® PLUS meets the exacting standards of BS 476-22:1987.

Environment

Products are as standard CFC/HCFC free with Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP).
