A total of 107 metres of Hauraton’s FASERFIX® KS were installed at The Tesco petrol station in Hardwick Road, Kings Lynn, Norfolk to protect the area from fuel spills and provide controlled surface water drainage.

11 metres of FASERFIX® KS 150 channels fitted with Class E600 HEELSAFE ductile iron gratings were installed by contractor Batdale Limited across the entrance to the forecourt were the asphalt changes to a concrete surface. A further 80 metres of KS 100 channels with the same grating specification were installed across the concreted forecourt and in front of the shop.

16 metres of FASERFIX® KS 200 channels fitted with Class E600 GUGI ductile iron gratings were installed around the delivery tanker discharge area to ensure any oil film and contaminated rainwater was diverted into the separation tank. Matching Trash Boxes were installed in each channel run.

All FASERFIX® KS channels are made from the company’s Fibre Reinforced Concrete (FRC), and have galvanised steel or stainless steel housings cast on to the top edges of the channel. This detail not only adds extra strength to the channel the feature helps reduce wear due to the twisting force exerted by a vehicle’s tyres when turning.

The FASERFIX® KS channels have been installed in numerous petrol filling stations throughout the UK as the specifications offered easily meet the hydraulic requirements and capacities needed to cover any fuel tanker spillages, for instance, road surface drainage above underground fuel tanks usually requires a minimum flow rate of 4400 litres per minute to accommodate any possible spillage. In total Hauraton offer over 30 KS models with loading categories from Class C250 to F900.
