Available free of charge, this complete service aims to deal with the whole roofing project, from initial concept design through to completion, ensuring the most cost–effective solution is identified and that the end result meets the specification for drainage and insulation requirements.

From an initial roof survey, to supplying detailed drawings, on waterproof paper, clearly setting out the fall and direction of pitch and fixing of each board type, this service takes into account all the aspects of the project to make life easier for the customer. Extensive calculations are undertaken for every tapered scheme design to determine the rate of heat loss (U-value) for each individual project. U-values are calculated in accordance with Annex C of BS6946 as required by Approved Document L to the Building regulations, ensuring full compliance.

The entire Kingspan Thermataper range has been designed to ensure low heat loss through the roof, as well as preventing the formation of water ponds (the most common cause of failure of flat roofs) by providing effective roof falls for both new and existing flat roofs. Each solution in the range has been specifically developed for use beneath a particular waterproofing membrane.

Featuring pre-mitred hip and valley boards as standard, Kingspan Insulation Thermataper tapered roofing systems are ideal for both new build and refurbishment projects. Notably, Kingspan products have amongst the lowest thermal conductivities of any PIR insulation boards on the market, leading to savings in the thickness needed to achieve the required U-values.

A full bespoke AutoCAD design is produced for every project and materials arrive ready labelled, complete with a full set of installation instructions on waterproof, tear-proof paper, so are easy to use. By greatly reducing the need for cutting boards on site, installation time and labour cost is significantly reduced as is the amount of waste material produced on site especially now that the boards can be despatched singly.

The extension of the range last year to include thicker tapered boards brought further time and costs savings by reducing the number of packer boards that a roofing contractor needs to lay.
