Meeting this standard compliments the achievement of ISO 9001 certification in 2010.
Since 2009 a strong emphasis has been placed on the commitment to reduce waste to landfill and improving recycling and energy efficiency. Mapei UK won The Tile Association Award in 2010 for Best Initiative to Reduce Environmental Impact and was also shortlisted into the final five for the 2010 EEF Future Manufacturers Awards in the Environmental Efficiency Category.
Mapei UK has worked hard to ensure that Environmental Management practices are in place throughout the business and will continually seek for opportunities to improve. Working to the requirements of ISO 14001 is a sign to show our dedication and commitment to the global cause of conserving our environment for future generations. It can be a sad thing to deprive future generations of the current benefits we enjoy from our environment, land, air and water bodies by being irresponsible in the use and management of natural resources we get from them. Commented Peter Dube, Quality Manager at Mapei UK Ltd.
