Newton Diathonite is a premixed plaster, fibre-reinforced with cork (granular 0-3 mm), clay powders and NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime. The resulting natural compound produces a plaster with unrivalled thermal and acoustic properties that is both hard wearing and flexible which is ideal for both internal and external applications.
Diathonite insulating plaster is the highest functioning eco-friendly insulation plaster on the market and was a medal winner within the Best Eco Product category at EcoBuild 2011
Newton Diathonite, when applied either internally or externally, creates a seamless thermal barrier which eliminates any risk of cold bridging within the structure.
One of the big advantages of applying Newton Diathonite Insulating Plaster to existing properties is that the application can be split between internal and external application, whereas conventional insulation can only be added to the inside of the walls and so impacts greatly on the internal space. It is usual for the internally applied insulation to then have a covering, such as plasterboard, which further reduces habitable space. By splitting the application of Diathonite between the inside and outside of the wall, similar insulation characteristics can be achieved with just half the space loss of conventional insulation.
