Newton Waterproofing products have created a water tight basement which houses the luxury private residents club serving the entire Lillie Square development.
The task was to design a combined waterproofing solution, using three forms of waterproofing in order to avoid the risk of any future moisture ingress which would damage the high quality finishes and disrupt club members. The principles of BS 8102:2009 were therefore applied to create a Grade 3 (habitable) internal environment, including an external Type A (barrier), an integral water-resistant Type B concrete barrier, and a full internal Newton Type C cavity drain membrane system.
The Type A system was achieved with the Newton HydroBond System, utilising the Newton 107F cementitious, liquid-applied waterproofing membrane, which was particularly suitable to Lillie Square due to the fact that it could be quickly spray-applied over large areas.
The Newton 107F was further supported by the Type B concrete barrier, and the Type C internal waterproofing, which saw Newton's CDM System cavity drain waterproofing installed throughout the basement area of the clubhouse. The Type C System also included the installation of four Titan-Pro sump chambers containing a total of eight dual NP400 pumps, as well as Newton High Water Alarms, Inverters and Battery Back-Up protection in order to create a truly failsafe system that will continue to remove ingressing water from the building even in the event of a complete power outage.
This Newton system forms the crucial barrier to any risk of water ingress and has an extendable 10 Year Guarantee with independent insurance backing. Stonehouse Property Care also undertake to service the pumps annually and provide support when and if required.
