In December 2014 Bayset Specialist Trade Supplies , Australia’s premier supplier of waterproofing materials, welcomed Stuart Tansey, Newton’s Technical and Training Manager, to their offices in Brisbane, Australia to spend a week facilitating Bayset to promote the advantages of Cavity Drain Membranes for below ground waterproofing.

During his stay, Stuart assisted in specification work for two high end residential projects in Melbourne which require water tight basements. The appointed architects were battling to find a suitable waterproofing solution to satisfy their clients.

Stuart’s time in Brisbane involved very productive meetings with the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection who are considering using Newton’s membranes as a damp proofing solution for a heritage listed project at Warwick. During his visit Stuart provided a product and installation training day for the newly established Bayset Newton approved contractors, Wetlock Waterproofing.

As well as providing in-depth product knowledge and design training, the day also included a more practical element to it which allowed Newton’s to show the basic installation methods required to install the Newton cavity drain system.
