Safety Fabrications supplied the Ascent™ Aluminium Roof Walkway to facilitate safe access across the roof of the new Everton Stadium.
Located at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool, this prestigious stadium will become the home ground for Everton Football Club ahead of the 2025-26 season. It also forms part of a wider mixed-use regeneration scheme, incorporating retail spaces, residential properties, a gym, and other community facilities.
Now recognised as the eighth-largest stadium in England, the venue features photovoltaic solar panels integrated into the roof to support on-site energy generation. Ensuring safe access for maintenance personnel was a key consideration in its design.
As part of the planned maintenance strategy, the Ascent™ Aluminium Roof Walkway was specified to provide a level, anti-slip, and free-draining surface for workers. The walkway has been levelled to align with the roof’s natural falls, while sections following the slope have been stepped to enhance safety and usability.
The walkway is secured using proprietary standing seam clamps, allowing installation without major roof penetrations or additional weatherproofing.
The installation was carried out by Eurosafe Contracting Ltd, an approved contractor, following comprehensive guidelines. The walkway has been designed and tested in accordance with EN 516:2006 and BS EN 14122-2 & 3:2016 standards and is manufactured at Safety Fabrications’ Sheffield facility under CE/UKCA certification in compliance with BS EN 1090 manufacturing procedures.
