Mapei’s Profilpas series includes a wide range of technical profiles, skirtings and pedestals designed to enhance the longevity of surfaces, simplify maintenance and deliver a refined finish. The series provides solutions for new-build environments and refurbishments, helping designers and contractors achieve durable, high-quality finishes across residential, commercial and public spaces.
Expansion Joints
To enhance floor performance, Profilpas’ range of technical profiles are designed to absorb natural expansion and contraction, and prevent tiles from cracking or buckling. Best-selling designs include the Projoint range of movement joints for tile and stone floors, available in stainless steel and brass finishes, and Unisystem Plus for wood and laminate floors - offered in Alcrom® Plus wood patterns and with the option to colour-match using PDS (Profilpas Digital System) technology.
Skirting Profiles
The Profilpas series provides a complete finishing solution for all types of flooring, including skirtings in a variety of finishes for the perfect transition between individual surfaces and from floor to wall. Design options include Metal Line; a range of modern profiles in aluminium and steel, Prolight Metal Line LED-illuminated skirting boards and the PVC Line which includes waterproof timber effects and specialist hygienic skirting systems.
LED Profiles
Profilpas’ Prolight LED profiles create a pristine finish with LED illumination for decorative and safety applications. The series includes the Prolight Prolist collection of listello tile trims, Prolight Proangle LED light profiles for external corners and Prolight Metal Line for skirting boards. For steps, there are also a variety of stair nosings including a round-edge format, a horizontal LED design and a non-slip ridged rubber format, providing additional safety under foot. All profiles include an LED-protecting diffuser.
Pedestal Systems
Used to lift a finished surface above a structural substrate, Profilpas pedestals promote precisely levelled tiled finishes, while creating a durable, well-drained structure beneath the surface which can accommodate cables and pipes. The systems are fast to install and highly adjustable, enabling installers to compensate for uneven substrates and provide support for heavy loads.
Popular options include Profilpas PP Level Duo Maxi adjustable supports, which are ideal for patios, paths and pool surrounds, and Profilpas PP Level Duo Maxi supports which are made from robust, recyclable bi-component PP + PTE material for greater load-bearing demands.
The range also includes accessories, from slope correctors to acoustic rubber pads. Additional support is provided with Mapei’s Profilpas PP Level Duo Maxi calculator tool, which provides an estimate of the quantity of supports required, presented in a clearly illustrated PDF summary.
