Products from PPG’s Protective Coatings range were selected on the refurbishment of Primula Seaways.
When the Primula Seaways vessel was in need of a refurbishment they turned to PPG's Protective Coatings Range to provide the high performance product solutions to revitalise the ship and protect the vessel from corrosion.
To transform the Primula Seaways decks, the client specified the use of PPG’s Protective Coatings range, as a global supplier of paints and coatings specialising in different markets, including Marine the client was able to see the benefits of PPG’s products being used to create a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish that provided the ultimate protection for this ship.
The project benefited from the use of SigmaPrime 200, a fast curing primer specifically designed to suit modern shipyard building practices by simplifying and speeding up the coatings process. The products quick drying properties allowed the team at JMS to move on to further application within the same day, allowing the project to stay on track despite bad weather forecasted for the following day.
To provide corrosion protection to the weather and car decks the team turned to SigmaZinc 158. Its ability to perform well in harsh conditions and protect surfaces from corrosion made it the perfect choice for the refurbishment of this vessel. The project was then finished with the application of SigmaCover 456 incorporating an aggregate to offer slip resistance.
The vessel is now back in action following its refurbishment.
