Wallbarn has expanded its raised flooring accessory range with the introduction of Border Shield, a dedicated perimeter safety solution designed to prevent slab or tile movement and tipping at perimeter edges of raised paving installations.

Border Shield has been developed to address a common weak point in raised floor systems, particularly along terrace edges, balconies, podium decks and pool surrounds, where cut or perimeter tiles are more vulnerable to movement. The system provides a controlled and secure edge detail, helping designers and contractors achieve a safer and more stable finish without compromising access or adjustability.

Designed to integrate directly with Wallbarn’s Mega Balance adjustable pedestal range, Border Shield connects at the perimeter of the installation and incorporates an integrated, height adjustable safety support. This allows perimeter slabs to be restrained effectively while maintaining the core benefits of a raised floor system, including ongoing inspection and maintenance access.

A key advantage of a suspended system is its ability to remain fully inspectable even after the paving has been laid. Central access points on the Border Shield allow height adjustment to be carried after you have connected the product to the head of the pedestal. The system can also be cut to length on site, enabling it to follow straight runs, corners and varied perimeter layouts with ease.

Manufactured from high strength polypropylene, Border Shield offers excellent resistance to UV exposure, moisture and harsh weather conditions, making it suitable for long term external use. The material also provides good resistance to acidic and alkaline substances commonly encountered in urban and landscaped environments. Mechanical performance remains stable over time, ensuring consistent restraint of perimeter slabs throughout the service life of the installation. The product has a fire reaction classification of E (fl).

Border Shield is particularly well suited to residential and public realm projects where raised paving systems are specified, and where clean detailing, safety and durability are paramount.
