Delivered in collaboration with waterproofing experts Polyroof / Roberts Manufacturing, this extensive green roof scheme spans more than 1,200m². The architect originally considered a rollout green roof system but had concerns regarding fire performance and wanted a solution supported by full-scale physical fire testing.

Wallbarn's M-Tray® modular green roof system provided the ideal alternative. Independently fire tested and certified to achieve B Roof(t4) classification, M-Tray® offered proven performance alongside the reassurance of documented certification. Its modular design also simplified installation, reduced programme timescales, and provided greater adaptability for future maintenance, ultimately leading the architect to amend the specification in favour of Wallbarn’s solution.

The outcome: a durable, high-performance green roof that has since been shortlisted for several industry awards.
