What a busy few days it was for Barbour Product Search and the Product Search portfolio at Ecobuild 2013 last week. Not only did we have our very own stand to showcase our portfolio of building product search sites, we also hosted the Ecobuild Product Search CPD Zone for the first time, which was hugely successful. But that wasn’t all - we also had some very exciting news to share as well!

In case you missed the announcement with all the buzz surrounding Ecobuild, we are pleased to let you know that, last Tuesday, Barbour Product Search signed a Letter of Intent to collaborate with BIMobject®, the fast growing BIM content supplier, to incorporate its portal of BIM objects into our product search sites.

BIMobject® is a world leading developer of BIM objects with a global and format neutral, cloud-based solution. The BIMobject® portal will enable the Product Search portfolio to integrate these objects into manufacturer profiles through web services, ensuring the BIM objects are always up-to-date, as only one version exists in the cloud.

A major benefit for UK BIM professionals is that they will be able to download high quality BIM objects directly from our product search sites, knowing the data is consistent, reliable and that they can easily download the objects into their favourite BIM authoring software.

Building product manufacturers will gain from increased exposure if they already have BIM objects on the BIMobject® cloud.

We are currently working with BIMobject® to develop this new and exciting collaboration, so watch this space!
