Mapei resilient floorcovering products have been used at Arnold Hill Academy, a new multi million pound state of the art school building.
The school, based in Nottingham, aims to transform the education of 1,700 students with this new cutting age development.
Pinnacle Special Projects carried out the installation of the floorcoverings for Wates Construction Ltd.
The new three storey building at Arnold Hill Academy includes 57 work spaces, classrooms as well a theatre and sports hall.
Mapei specified 2150m2 of Mapeproof One Coat and 1250m2 Mapeproof ESM surface applied damp proof membranes, both of which are solvent free with extremely low odour making them ideal for use in inhabited areas such as schools.
Mapei’s 2 part cement based levelling and smoothing compound, Latexplan Trade was then applied to all areas.
Some 3400m2 of vinyl flooring was installed over the three storeys using Mapei Utrabond Eco 380 acrylic adhesive; 3600m2 of carpet tiles were also installed onto Mapei Ultrabond Eco Tack carpet tile tackifier.
Ultrabond Eco 380 and Ultrabond Eco Tack are part of Mapei’s popular Ultrabond Eco adhesive range comprises solvent-free, water dispersion, non-flammable, non-staining and carries the EC1 GEV Emicode labelling for ultra-low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
Installers working in close proximity to Mapei’s adhesives aren’t subjected to any harmful vapours and occupiers/visitors will not be subjected to harmful emissions once floor installations are complete.
