Projects: Oakham, Catford
Products: Adjustable Support Pads for Timber Decking
The objective for this particular project was to create an improvement outdoor roof space for recreational purposes.
A timber decking floor was to be laid which was raised from the roof with a PVC membrane which had a slight fall to allow for drainage.
The existing waterproofing membrane on the roof was manufactured from single ply PVC and was very delicate.
The client wanted to ensure that there was no risk of damage to the delicate waterproofing membrane.
It was suggested to the appointed contractor that Wallbarn adjustable support pads manufactured from polypropylenebe used to support the timber decking joist frame.
With the approved waterproofing manufacturer membrane protection covering the membrane there was no risk of damage to the delicate membrane underneath from overloading the adjustable support pads due to the 200mm wide diameter of the support pad base.
A level joist frame was created despite the fall in the roof for drainage by the adjustment mechanism on the support pads.
The head of the support pad has lugs 40mm and 60mm apart to allow for variable size joist frame sizes to be supported.
The quick installation cut down on labour costs, allowing for a cost effective solution for the client.
A high end finish was achieved using Wallbarn adjustable support pads without interfering with the waterproof membrane and ensuring that the current drainage was completely uninterrupted.
The contractor was able to complete the project very quickly and cost effectively to the satisfaction of the client.
