Eurocell has announced Skypod, an innovative new skylight solution that offers housebuilders and specifiers a modern architectural design and unbeatable thermal efficiency.
The Skypod range from Eurocell is designed specifically to add height, volume and natural light to uninspiring flat-roofed rooms.
Design engineered with many technical innovations, Skypod offers contemporary aesthetics that are superior to other PVC-U systems and comparable with aluminium alternatives, whilst being much more cost effective.
The contemporary and balanced aesthetics on Skypod have been achieved because it is a new design that avoids the bulky looking aesthetics found on some other skylight systems.
Skypod has a fixed 20 degree roof pitch and is supplied with self-cleaning, temperature controlled glass in Blue, Neutral, Bronze and Clear as standard, with a U-value of 1.0W/m²K* achievable.
For the first time in the PVC-U sector, Skypod provides an architectural solution that addresses the desire for more natural light in flat-roof refurbishments, extensions, new build and conversion projects such as garages.
The Skypod range is available in two formats: in kits from all 125-plus Eurocell branches nationwide and as kits or bespoke sizes from Eurocell fabricators.
Skypod is offered in White, Moondust Grey, Anthracite Grey, Rosewood and Golden Oak all with white interior finishes to maximise the light and airy feel. Additional finishes can be made to order on extended lead times.
Until now the issue with PVC-U skylight systems has been the aesthetics, said Ian Kernaghan, Product Manager at Eurocell. Aluminium, the other material commonly used for skylights, isnt to everyones taste either because its expensive, it often doesn't complement existing window designs, which are usually PVC-U and many homeowners dislike its slightly industrial aesthetic.
